Old Spaghetti Factory 152 South Monroe Street, Spokane, WA 99201 Phone:(509) 624-8916

For my birthday dinner, my family and I went to the Old Spaghetti Factory.  We were all in the mood for Italian.  My mom and Em both enjoyed a house salad to start off their meal.  My dad and I both got the vegetable minestrone soup.  We also had two loaves of sourdough bread set out for us.  We REALLY enjoyed the bread and the soup it hit the spot on a cool night. For the main course, I ordered Lasagna, Em ordered Macaroni, my dad ordered Spaghetti with meat sauce and mazithra, and my mom ordered the dungeness crab ravioli.  My meal was very good.  It had the perfect amount of cheese and sauce.  Em's Macaroni was very creamy, just the way she liked it.  My dad's food was very good. My mom enjoyed her ravioli, but she didn't think it was as good as Swilly's (in Pullman, WA) crab ravioli.  For drinks, both Em and I ordered a soda, and my mom just had water.  After we ate our food we had a choice of either vanilla ice cream or spumoni.  Everyone had spumoni, except Em who had vanilla ice cream.  Our time at the Old Spaghetti Factory was very enjoyable.  The staff was very hospitable and the food was amazing.

Wild Sage 916 W. 2nd Ave Spokane, WA 99201 509-456-7575

Wild Sage was a very delicious restaurant. For starters, we had two servings of popovers. They were like giant hollowed out marshmallows, but with a bread flavor. The popovers came with a delicious side of whipped honey butter which made the popovers complete.  For drinks, I had Dr. Pepper, El had a Thomas Kemper Root Beer, my mom had a Blueberry Basil Drop, and my dad had a HF "Bean" Old Fashioned.  For our main dish, I had a bowl of buttery hot noodles with parmesan and a warm bread stick. I really enjoyed it and my Dad did as well. My Dad got a salmon dish which he enjoyed with my buttered noodles.  El had half a Kobe bacon burger which she shared with my mom.  We had a fun time in the nicely set out restaurant visiting with each other. I wouldn't suggest that you bring small kids (1-8) years old, but 9 and over would be fine (a child with manners).

TOULOUSE PETIT, 601 QUEEN ANNE AVE. NORTH, SEATTLE, WA 98119 By: El

By El-
We went to Toulouse Petit for breakfast with some amazing friends. We ordered two plates of piping hot beignets for starters. They were served with a chicory dipping sauce that was very tasty. For the main meal, I ordered biscuits and gravy. They came with a side of breakfast potatoes and two fried eggs. Em got some french toast with butter and pear syrup. We both had water as our beverage. My food was really tasty. The sausage in the gravy was really flavorful and the gravy had a little spice to it.  The biscuits were flaky and went well with the gravy. Em's waffles were really sweet, due to the fact that she practically drowned them in her syrup.  My dad got a spicy hash and my mom got a Dungeness Crab Benedict.  She enjoyed it a lot.  My dad enjoyed his food as well.  He likes spicy stuff and my mom sticks to foods with a more mild temperature.  The size of the portions weren't disappointing, and the quality of the flavor was better than expected.  All in all, I give Toulouse Petite four stars.

Bennidito's Pizza

Bennidito's Pizza

1426 S Lincoln StSpokane WA 99203(509) 455-7411
For my very belated birthday party, me, my family, and some friends went to Bennidito's for some pizza and beer buddies.  The pizzas we got were half pepperoni, half cheese, and a whole Hawaiian  pizza.  We ordered two baskets of beer buddies.  My parents also got the Bennidito's Salad Primo.  Our pizza was nice and hot, with stringy cheese and piping hot toppings.  The beer buddies were covered with melted butter, parmesan, garlic.  We also had two dipping sauces; a red marinara and a pesto.  My mom loved the salad, but wished that they had decided to make croutons that day.  She also enjoyed the roasted garlic and the light raspberry vinaigrette.  My dad enjoyed the same things.  Bennidito's is one of my favorite local pizza places.  I really love their beer buddies because the butter and dipping sauce are so tasty.  I will enjoy returning there.

McKenzie River Pizza Co. 2910 E. 57th Ave., Suite E (509) 315-9466

One great pizza place is McKenzie River Pizza Co. They had a wonderful sourdough crust for their pizzas, but there are other options if you aren't a sourdough fan. My mom, dad, and I all shared their Hot Hawaiian pizza.  It has a sweet, tangy BBQ sauce, topped with fajita chicken, bacon, pineapple, jalapeno peppers, and mozzarella cheese.  I had a root beer to drink.  It was icy and satisfying.  The chairs that were used through out the restaurant were cool looking.  They had that rustic feel to them, and  looked as if they were made of branches, but my dad didn't like the way it felt on his back.  There was also some manmade trees in the larger seating area; they had branches sticking out of the support posts.  Also, there was a decorative canoe hanging from the ceiling.  Overall, McKenzie River Pizza Co. is an extraordinary experience, and I look forward to returning.

Em's Thoughts on McKenzie River Pizza Co.
The Pizza we got were magically scrumptious, I got a cheese pizza off the kids menu. It had a thin crust, tomato sauce, and cheese. I also got a Pepsi, this was fizzy and fresh. The surroundings were AMAZING, there was a bear carved out of wood when you walk in through the front door. Everywhere I looked there was a television, (I watched the athletic channel, the rest of my family watched a basketball game) I really like the huge mural photographs that were up on the wall I also liked how the restaurant had a cabin-like look to it.  My mom and dad didnt care for the pizza (my mom likes South Perry Pizza better) but she did like the tanginess of the sourdough crust.

Flying Goat Pizza 3318 W Northwest Blvd. Spokane, Washington 99205 509.327.TAPS

Flying Goat was a terrifical (terr-if-i-cal) restaurant! We enjoyed the fire kissed crust that were on the NW Blvd - Zoe's pepperoni, caramelized onion, house cheese blend and red sauce and the Dalton - Honey apple BBQ sauce, pulled pork, house cheese blend, caramelized onion and coleslaw. The NW Blvd was my favorite pizza, because of the caramelized onions. I liked how the pizza had a little kick to it. El liked the Dalton better, because it had way more flavor. El and I also got a cool, refreshing, thirst quenching, glasses of sweet, tart lemonade. We liked it very much. Our dad got the Old Chub (an Irish favorite of his) and a custom brew Horned Aviator he thought that that one was okay and our mom got (the usual) water. The restaurant had huge pictures of landmarks from the Audubon neighborhood. I thought they were really cool. Our mom really liked the big farm table that we sat at, she would like to have one up at our cabin.
We also had a really cool lamp above us. The restaurant is very kid friendly except bring a deck of cards to play with because it takes a while to get your pizza.

Longhorn - El's birthday dinner

Longhorn was an excellent restaurant for Bar-B-Que lovers. I had a german sausage sandwich. It was very good, but I thought there was a little too much meat on it. For a side, I had mashed potatoes and gravy, and some baked beans. Since we went there for my birthday, I got a free ice cream sundae. It was good, with caramel and chocolate sauce, whipped cream, with vanilla ice cream. I enjoyed it. Em had a kids meal with a shredded beef sandwich. She would have rather had mac and cheese (big surprise!). We both had sodas, Em had a coke, and I had a root beer. My dad had an IPA and a Bar-B-Que pork sandwich. The meal was better than he thought it was going to be. My mom had a root beer and sausage sandwich. She didn't appreciate the sticky plastic table cloth.

Longhorn is kid friendly. The decor was western and we got to enjoy western music while we ate our meal.

Over all, I give Longhorn 3 stars.
